Born and raised in Shanghai, designer Sally Wu was trained as a traditional calligrapher and painter during childhood. Prior to launching act1, she held influential executive positions at New York fashion houses such as Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, and Helmut Lang. Actively involved in contemporary art, she has also curated museum exhibitions - and even produced documentary films. Her interest in architectural design results in her unique approach to the construction of garments. Contemporary art and artists are the source of many of her inspirations.
